THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATES
A flight instructor certificate allows you to give flight and ground instruction, to teach others how to fly.
There are three types of flight instructor certificates.
1.Instructor certificate (CFI)
Allows you to teach in aircraft in VFR conditions
2.Instrument Instructor (CFII)
Allows you to teach instrument flying to the students
3.Mutli Instructor (MEI, MEII)
Allows you to teach in twin engine aircraft.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATES
Must be 18 years old.
Passed your flight instructor ground school written test with a score of 70% or better.
Must hold a commercial license.
Must hold a second class medical.
Must have an instrument rating if you want to teach instrument flying.
There is no flight time requirement for these ratings other than 5 hours in make and model if you are going to teach in twin engine aircraft.
After you have met these requirements, you are ready for your flight instructor checkride.

The cost is dependent upon your ability and flight time. Check with one of the fight schools we have here on the Orlando Apopka Airport, Apopka Aviation, Eliamo, First Landings or Grizzly Aviation for competing rates.
